Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) 25/26 School Year


Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, the BCBA provides behavior analysis and behavior management plans for special education students enrolled in educational programs; provides support and training to school site staff, paraprofessionals, and parents/guardians in appropriate behavior intervention techniques. Provides supervision to RBT’s for the purpose of maintaining certification. Conducts assessments and develops plans that conform to IDEA and California Education Code. Direct special education classified staff working with students.


Under the supervision of the Director of SELPA/Special Education, the BCBA provides behavior analysis and behavior management plans for special education students enrolled in educational programs; provides support and training to school site staff, paraprofessionals, and parents/guardians in appropriate behavior intervention techniques. Conducts assessments and develops plans that conform to IDEA and California Education Code. Direct special education classified staff working with students. 


REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES 


1. Develops and provides training for groups of school site administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and paraprofessionals in: 


a. Behavioral assessments, techniques, and intervention plans 

b. Managing assaultive behaviors, e.g. Professional Assault Response Training 

c. Principles of behavioral intervention, modification, and other behavior management systems 

d. Crisis management techniques 

e. Evidence-based practices 


2. Works with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provides support and training for staff who work with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors. 


3. Trains staff in and conducts functional analysis assessments of behaviors for students with complex and or severe behaviors in accordance with the IDEA and the California Education Code. 


4. Consults with and provides direction to school psychologists in implementing and monitoring behavior intervention plans. 


5. Consults with school site administrators and staff, teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents/guardians. 


6. Participates in IEP team meetings as required. 


7. Prepares evaluations, assessments, and/or reports for the purpose of documentation of student behaviors. 


8. Attends job-related meetings and activities specified by the Director. 


9. Performs related duties as required.

• Stand, walk, bend over, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull and move objects not exceeding 25 pounds, lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds to waist height

• Hear and understand speech at normal indoor and outdoor levels, and on the telephone 


Hazards: 


• Exposure to bodily fluids, blood borne pathogens and infectious diseases 

• Contact with dissatisfied or abusive individuals

Pay Range: $507.09 - $579.80 Daily

Add'l Salary Info: Professional Salary Schedule + $1,200 Health & Welfare CAP
