Staying up to date with continuing education is essential for maintaining BACB® certification, strengthening clinical skills, and ensuring your learners receive the highest quality of care. This resource page provides guidance on CE requirements for BCBAs, BCaBAs, and RBTs—and highlights trusted organizations offering continuing education opportunities.

BCBA Continuing Education Requirements

32 total CEUs every 2 years
- 4 CEUs in Ethics (required)
- 3 CEUs in Supervision (required if the BCBA provides supervision)
- Remaining CEUs may be in any topic area
Learning CEUs must come from approved ACE providers

Note: In 2027, the minimum Supervision CEUs will increase to 4.

RBT Professional Development Requirements

12 total professional development units every 2 years
- Can be on any topic related to the work of an RBT, including the RBT Ethics Code, expanding on the 40-hour course content, BACB requirements, etc.
Professional development units can be acquired through:
- In-service training
- A continuing education event through an ACE provider
- Didactic behavior-analytic university coursework: Must pass with a "C" or higher

BCaBA Continuing Education Requirements

20 total CEUs every 2 years
- 4 CEUs in Ethics (required)
- 3 CEUs in Supervision (required if the BCBA provides supervision)
- Remaining CEUs may be in any topic area
Learning CEUs must come from approved ACE providers
