The Interconnected Practice of Supervision

  • Supervision takes place in a complex ecology. Each person, the supervisor, practitioners, children, and families, all affect one another within their unique and interdependent ecology. The posture and the actions of the supervisor can help the ecology move towards or away from behavioral wellbeing and growth for all members of the ecosystem. The purpose of this presentation is to provide a framework and guidance for supervisory practices that nurture life enhancing progress for all.

    • Briefly describe an ecobehavioral perspective and how it relates to supervision

    • Briefly describe care ethics and how it fits within ABA, other philosophical perspectives, and supervision

    • Describe and give examples of four guiding principles to nurture collective wellbeing within clinical ecosystems

    • Develop an action plan to assess behavioral health and well being of your ecosystems and choose one area for improvement.
