Easterseals Louisiana (ESL) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to change the way the world defines and views disabilities by making profound, positive differences in people’s lives every day. Established in 1951, our organization supports over 12,400 individuals statewide (whom we refer to as Participants) with a variety of disabilities. A leading provider of disability services, ESL has physical locations in 8 regions of Louisiana and our array of programs include support coordination (case management) for children, adults and elderly participants, a wide range of behavioral health and housing services, early intervention services for infants and toddlers, and a school setting called The Chartwell Center in New Orleans.
Because we support so many participants with a range of needs, we have learned that disability looks different for everyone, and it is our goal to help our participants thrive and live their lives to their fullest potential. ESL believes that everyone deserves opportunities to be active and productive members of their communities. We strive to make a life of purpose and independence possible for our participants through our commitment to quality support, innovative service offerings, and continuous organizational evolution.
We are seeking mission-driven individuals to join our team who will help us deliver a life of independence, relationships, and meaning to our participants. The ESL Chartwell Center is dedicated to supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related conditions by offering educational services, therapy, and training for parents, teachers, and other professionals. Established in 1999 by a group of concerned and committed parents, the center’s mission is to help students not only survive but thrive in the world beyond. In 2022, the Chartwell Center became part of Easterseals Louisiana.
The Chartwell Center caters to elementary and high school-aged students with Autism. Our early intervention program incorporates Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support children on the autism spectrum. The center operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, year-round, and follows a school schedule with 35 school holidays, including full weeks in the Spring, Summe,r and Fall and two weeks of a winter break, plus two weeks of paid vacation annually. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage and a 401(k) plan. This position requires very little travel. Each staff member is paired with one child to work on improving functional communication, adaptive behaviors, and social skills. Ongoing training with ABA specialists and Interventionists collaborating alongside our other BCBAs.
