Registered Behavior Technician: Saint Stephen’s Church, Virginia 23148
Position Type: Part-Time; to grow into full time position
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and patient Registered Behavior Technician to join our team. This individual will provide one-on-one and group support to multiple clients in a fun, interactive, and experiential manner here on the farm. We work to help every child (and adult) develop life skills that promote happiness, confidence, and emotional well-being. Many of our clients are Autistic (levels 2 & 3), as well as others struggling with trauma, so experience with one, if not both, of these populations is preferable. But no experience with horses is required :)
Key Responsibilities:
• Work 1-1 with clients (ages 5-18 years old) in weekly/bi one-hour sessions here at the farm.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on thorough Assessments to address challenges related to anxiety, anger management, emotional dysregulation, cognitive struggles, and motor skills development.
• Conceptualize session plans for clients which help to address struggles (i.e. grooming horse to reduce anxiety).
• Show compassion, love, patience and insight to help children and families grow, learn and heal.
• Write reports on weekly sessions updating the status of the child and how they are progressing towards meeting their Treatment Plan short- and long-term objectives.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support and resources are provided for the client.
• Attend weekly office hours (two hours).
• Maintain accurate documentation of progress notes, treatment plans, and Assessments.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages exploration and emotional well-being.
• Help with basic barn chores / duties, feeding horses, special events and projects.
What makes this job special:
• Get to help and heal people every day!
• Work around horses—some of the world’s most beautiful and inspiring animals—every single day.
• Be lucky enough to work outside on our beautiful farm with beautiful people.
• Enjoy paid time off, flexible hours, and a supportive team environment
Compensation: $30 per session (plus monthly stipend).
