We will pay out a $5,000 signing bonus after completion of 90-days.

As a member of the ESL Chartwell Leadership Team, our BCBAs design and manages individualized behavior programming, including:


  • Managing ABA Therapists and Interventionists

  • Supervising direct 1:1 ABA service delivery

  • Conducting behavior assessments

  • Individualizing client treatment goals and objectives

  • Conducting monthly caregiver training

  • Coordinating with other professionals on your clients' treatment team


The general responsibilities for this role include:


  • Function in a supervisory capacity and provide oversight to all areas of programming, including the training of ABA Therapists and Interventionists.

  • Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, using both discrete trial training and natural environment training models of teaching.

  • Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for clients and their families

  • Provide model teaching and other direct instructional support including, but not limited to, practicum supervision/teaching, class instruction, caretaker/family training, and in-service instruction to other support professionals.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and develop appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate replacement behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors.

  • Work collaboratively with staff and families to promote positive student behavior by providing professional development that targets research, evidence-based strategies, and modeling of instructional practices to support staff in their implementation of positive support

  • Create an ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all consumers and analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.

  • Assist in the development of behavior plans/treatment plans for all consumers with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).

  • Engage children/families on the waiting list for admission to ESL Chartwell Center to provide supportive services/ABA instruction until full admission to the school.

  • Develop and provide a menu of ABA-oriented training to provide for caregivers/families in the home setting.

  • Become certified in the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) model of care and assist in the development of a clinic where this service can be provided at the ESL Chartwell Center during after-school hours.

  • Meet as needed with supervised staff to discuss ongoing consumer issues and to provide support when necessary.

  • Submit mileage reimbursement as needed for OPSB not to exceed 25 miles for travel to other schools.

The Chartwell center operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, year-round, and follows a school schedule with 35 school holidays, including full weeks in the Spring, Summer and Fall and two weeks of a winter break, plus two weeks of paid vacation annually. This position requires very little travel. Each staff member is paired with one child to work on improving functional communication, adaptive behaviors, and social skills. Ongoing training with ABA specialists and Interventionists collaborating alongside our other BCBAs.


WORKING CONDITIONS


· This position requires travel to and from partnering schools. Individuals must have reliable transportation.

· Work is performed in a normal office environment and a school environment.

· Valid Louisiana Driver’s License


Successfully passing a background check and drug screening are required for this position.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or related discipline

  • Current State Licensed and Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (as certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

  • Preferred - Classroom teaching experience

  • Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and resources.  

  • Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills. Safety-Care Crisis Prevention Training is a plus, or the ability to obtain certification in Safety-Care training.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a positive collaborative relationship among staff

  • Experience working with various funding streams and other third-party sources

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Proficient in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word, Excel, and customized databases

  • Understanding and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances

  • Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and public speaking

  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to relate well with people from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural groups

  • Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation, practical learning skills, enthusiasm, and an ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS—with or without accommodation:


  • The employee is regularly required to operate a computer, file and retrieve written documents, communicate with others on the phone and in person.

  • The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands, and lift and/or move lightweight items.

  • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.

  • The ability to lift 50 pounds and able to assist in the dressing, hygiene and toileting of students.
