JOB DESCRIPTION FOR BCBA/BCaBA  


Job Summary:  The BCBA/BCaBA is primarily responsible for the design, implementation, training/supervision of RBTs, and analysis/review of ABA treatment services, including determining which tasks the RBTs may perform dependent upon their training, experience, and competence. This job is hourly part-time to start, but can become full-time if you meet all necessary requirements and training. Training is provided onsite at our clinic, which is your primary work location. Licensure as a BCBA-D/BCBA/BCaBA with the BACB or other qualifying licensure agency. 


Line of Authority:  Collaborates/researches with all BCBA-Ds/BCBAs/BCaBAs for ABA treatment matters, managed by the Clinical Director. Reports to the Office Manager for financial and HR matters (i.e., payroll, policy), and the Clinical Director for all clinical matters.  


Responsibilities:  


  • Designs and implements ABA treatment services for 1:1 and group settings

  • Documenting treatment with Treatment Plans (TPs), and reports/reviews as outlined per insurance policy. 

  • Trains new RBTs/supervisees, advises them on RBT/BCBA testing, and records/tracks each RBTs/supervisees’ supervision percentages in Theralytics with all supervision forms as required by the BACB and per insurance carrier. 

  • Trains and supervises the RBTs/supervisees on the implementation of ABA treatment, and the collection/entry of data and Session Notes in Theralytics as required per insurance policy. 

  • Tracks/complies with billing code unit requirements according to patient’s authorization, provided/outlined in Theralytics and the Office Manager. 

  • Consults with and trains the patients’ family (family guidance), the multi-disciplinary team (i.e., transitioning into school, medical issues), and PABA staff, recording these meetings as outlined per insurance policy. 

  • Observes confidentiality and HIPPA safeguards of all patient related information. 

  • Immediately reports to the Clinical Director of any patient incidents/variances or complaints. 

  • Strictly adheres to the BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance Code. 

  • Adheres to PABA’s scheduling and clocking in/out policy, reporting schedule and time sheet changes ASAP (not during direct treatment) to the Scheduler/Office Manager via email (texts only for emergency or immediate needs) copied to the Clinical Director. 

  • Complies with patient and provider availability approved by the Clinical Director and Office Manager. 

  • Understands and adheres to all established PABA policies, adhering to his/her availability, and reporting any errors, non-compliance, or misunderstandings to the Clinical Director and Office Manager. 

  • Reports all incomplete work assignments to the Clinical Director. Appearance is always within PABA standards; is clean and well-groomed and maintains a safe and clean/organized work environment (i.e., his/her assigned uniforms and rooms). 

  • Maintains acceptable attendance status, per PABA policy. 

  • Demonstrates effective time management skills through daily documentation and infrequent non-billable administrative time for routine assignments. 

  • Demonstrates sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision making. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a BCBA-D/BCBA/BCaBA with the BACB or other qualifying licensure agency.

  • Medical licensure with the Virginia Board of Medicine and BLS certification.

  • Acceptance of philosophy, policies, and general goals of Progressive ABA, Inc. (PABA)
