Pre-Certified Behavior Analyst: New Fairfield, Connecticut
The pre-certified behavior analyst delivers behavior analytic services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This individual is actively pursuing BCBA certification and provides clinical support in the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans. The Associate Behavior Analyst applies the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to support student growth, conduct functional behavior assessments, interpret data, and contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making across school settings.
Key Responsibilities
Implement behavior intervention plans with fidelity under the direction of a supervising BCBA
Conduct functional behavior assessments and skill-based assessments as directed
Collect, graph, and analyze behavioral and skill acquisition data to inform treatment decisions
Collaborate with educators, school-based teams, and families to ensure consistent and effective implementation of behavior support strategies
Contribute to the development of behavior analytic materials, data systems, and training resources for school staff
Participate in clinical supervision meetings, peer reviews, and ongoing professional development aligned with BACB fieldwork requirements
Maintain documentation in compliance with BACB supervision standards and district protocols
Uphold ethical guidelines and professional standards established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
Requirements
Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Current CT Comprehensive Special Education Certification preferred (CT 065, 165, or 265) or certification pending.
Previous experience conducting behavior assessments, designing and implementing behavior modification plans, and discrete trial instruction.
Currently enrolled in a graduate program approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
Actively accruing supervised fieldwork hours toward BCBA certification
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or related field (required); graduate level coursework being completed. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
